BEGINNING:
EasyGuide is in line with the general objective of the Interreg V-A Romania-Bulgaria Programme, responding to the need for better cooperation between the two countries in order to improve the use of joint opportunities. The project addresses the general territorial challenge for an unstable tourist flow in the Silistra-Calarasi region and meets Specific Objective 2.1 for the improvement of the sustainable use of the natural heritage, resources and cultural heritage under the Programme.
The popularization of the region of Calarasi-Silistra as a tourist destination is a strategic priority for both municipalities.
This year, numerous joint activities were carried out, including Phare projects and the   Calarasi-Silistra cross-border development strategy for the period 2007-2013. However unstable tourist flow still remains a common challenge.
For the achievement of sustainable results, further steps should be taken to make better use of our natural and cultural heritage (the Danube River and the common past) by introducing the best world practices. Following the example of the London City Guide, we plan to build an interactive tourist environment on both sides of the Danube. Among other advantages, the joint development of the project will provide a more attractive tourist offer and a solid basis for solving the mentioned challenges.
